While taking a shot during the third round on 7 September, Olesen's tee ball landed on a tree. The DP World Tour shared pictures of the tee ball on its Instagram account, showing it hanging from a tree while Olesen carefully watched it. They wrote in the caption:
"How did @jacobsolesen’s ball land here…🤯 #OEM2024."
Fans quickly jumped into the comments section to talk about the unique position in which the ball landed, jokingly suggesting he should "play it as it lies".
