Rasmus Hojgaard addresses Denmark making ‘half’ of the European Team Cup side

Rasmus Hojgaard reflected on having five players from Denmark in the Continental Europe team in the Team Cup. The DP World Tour's Team Cup returned with its second edition in 2025, starting with its first-day event on Friday, January 10. The event features two teams, Continental Europe and Great Britain & Ireland. Both teams have 10 players each.

The Continental Europe team has five of the 10 players from Denmark. During a press conference of the Team Cup on January 9, Højgaard reflected on having around half the team comprised of Danish players. He called it "awesome" to see golf is evolving in Denmark. Speaking of the Danish players playing in the Team Cup, Højgaard said (via ASAP Sports):

"It's awesome. Golf in Denmark right now is on a very good path. Amateur golf is strong, and there's a lot of new pros coming through The Challenge Tour, and now on to the DP World Tour.

"Yeah, it's quite amazing to be fair. I'm not quite sure how to describe it because when you look at it, and there's five Danes in the team, you're thinking, how is that possible. I think we've got five players in the top hundred as well. First time ever that's happened. It's quite cool to see how the golf is evolving in Denmark," he added.

Previously, the DP World Tour's Team Cup was held in 2023 at the Abu Dhabi Golf Resort. It returned for the second edition, and Højgaard shared his excitement to play in the tournament. He said (via ASAP Sports):

"I'm very happy to be here. Very happy that I don't have to pull out. I'm really looking forward to it."

Team Cup is a three-day event taking place in foursome, fourball, and singles matches. The championship started on Friday, January 10, and on the first day, there were four ball matches. On Saturday, there would be foursome and fourball matches, followed by one-on-one singles on Sunday, January 12.
