Rickie Fowler won't be playing at the PGA Tour's final event Wyndham Championship to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs. The PGA Tour event is scheduled next week from August 7 to 11 at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Fowler and his wife Allison Stokke are expecting their second child this week. He shared with Golfweek that their child's due date is August 4. Fowler and Stokke married in 2019 and share a two-year-old daughter named Maya.
Rickie Fowler shared the news about his second child a few months ago, as he wrote on Instagram:
"Maya with shoes ready for her baby sister…we’re excited to be a foursome later this summer!"
Fowler is currently 104th in the FedExCup standings with 374 points. Only the top 70 players will proceed to the FedExCup playoffs. A win at the Wyndham Championship would have helped him get in the playoffs. So, the 35-year-old's 2024 season has come to an early end.
Talking about his season, Fowler had said at a press conference during the US Open (via The Mirror):
"I've basically played terrible this year; pretty simple and easy way to sum it up."
Rickie Fowler is 63rd in the Official World Golf Rankings and is not exempted from any of the Majors next year. He will not be qualified for next year's signature events on the PGA Tour.
As per Rickie Fowler Tracker, he'll next participate in the Grant Thorton Invitational. He's also likely to participate in the Nepa Valley and Shriner's Children's Open but it hasn't been confirmed yet.
