After his second round, Robert MacIntyre posted an apology on X (formerly Twitter) for swearing on the golf course. While apologizing, MacIntyre said he plays his golf "with heart and fight" and will not change his way.

"I do this at least once a year. I am sorry for the swearing on course but guess what am not gonna change I play golf with heart and fight," the Scottish golfer wrote.

The Scottish golfer swore on the golf course, which is understandable as he had a disappointing start to his second round after finishing even par in his first round.

MacIntyre started his round on the back nine with two bogeys on the 12th and 13th holes before carding a double bogey on the 16th. It looked like he was going to miss the cut, as he was +4 for a while, before making an incredible comeback by carding five consecutive birdies.

He scored birdies on the 17th, 18th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd holes and remained bogey-free on the front nine. This helped the Scottish golfer move to one-under and make it to the weekend with ease.

The left-handed golfer was overwhelmed with emotion after winning the 2024 Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club.

"I think I lost my voice after the scream on that hole. I thought I was short. I’ve put a lot of work into this. I’ve changed a lot within the team and I’ve just worked hard," MacIntyre told Sky Sport.

"I wanted The Scottish Open," added the 27-year-old. "I got a bit of luck on 16 that you need to win golf tournaments. I couldn’t believe when I heard a sprinkler under my foot. It was covered and I thought: I got lucky, it was meant to be."

This week, Robert MacIntyre is looking to become the first golfer to win the Scottish Open and Irish Open in the same year. However, it is not going to be easy, as he is three strokes behind the lead as it stands.
