Robert MacIntyre recently made a cheeky comment on X after tennis legend Andy Murray confirmed his DP World Tour entry. Murray will be participating in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am event.

The 2024 BMW PGA Championship is scheduled to be held from September 19 to 22 at The Wentworth Golf Club in Virginia Water, England. Several top players like Rory Mcllroy, Robert MacIntyre, Alex Noren, Will Zalatoris, Si Woo Kim and others are listed in the field for the tournament.

Before the main tournament, Murray will participate in the Pro-Am event where pros and amateurs play together. The official handle of the BMW PGA Championship recently announced Andy Murray's participation in the Pro-Am event on X. It said:

"3x Grand Slam winner, Sir , will be swapping his racket for clubs, as he tees it up in the #BMWPGA Pro-Am"

Quoting the tweet, MacIntyre said:

"New balls please (3x Scottish Flag) @andy_murray"

'New balls please' is a common phrase used by tennis players to ask for fresh tennis balls during an ongoing match. Further, MacIntyre used the Scottish flag in the X post as both he and Murray are from Scotland.

Andy Murray retired from professional tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics. He recently changed his X bio, which now reads:

"I played tennis. I now play golf."

In a recent interview with Mirror, the tennis legend talked about how he intended to play a 'lot of golf' after retirement, and also about his wish to become a scratch golfer.

After Murray's retirement, Robert MacIntyre said that it was brilliant to watch the tennis legend play, calling the former an inspiration not only for him but to many others. He said that it was unfortunate to see Murray's career being affected by injuries, but praised his contributions to British and Scottish tennis.
