Hayden Springer registered his name in the record books as he fired a 12-under 59 in the first round of the John Deere Classic on Thursday (July 4). However, fans didn't seem to be impressed by players going sub-60 in back-to-back weeks.

Springer fired a 59 to take the two-shot lead after the first round of the John Deere Classic. He made eight birdies and two eagles on the opening day. Notably, he had earned the card earlier this year via Q-School.

With this, Springer became only the 14th player to shoot a sub-60 round on the PGA Tour. This was the second sub-60 round by any player on the PGA Tour in just two weeks. Recently Cameron Young had also shot 59 during the Travelers Championship. Besides, two players on the Korn Ferry Tour had also gone sub-60 this year.

Fans online were not too happy with Hayden Springer shooting 59 as they felt it was getting too easy for the players. A few fans also asked to roll the ball back. Here's a look at some of the reactions:

"Roll the ball back," one fan wrote.
"59s the new 61," another fan wrote.
"Course setup is obviously far too easy. Do better," this user commented.
"If a ball drops in the hole for 59 and nobody sees it does it make a sound," one user posted. "We get more spectators for our club championship finals than the John Deere."
"With respect, if a guy like this shoots 59 at your course it needs a massive renovation," this user opined.
"Two sub 60 rounds in 2 weeks is crazy," one user wrote.

When will Hayden Springer tee off at the John Deere Classic, Round 2?

Hayden Springer is grouped with Zecheng Dou and Blake Hathcoat for the second round of the John Deere Classic. The trio will tee off on Friday, July 5, from the 10th tee.

The second round of the John Deere Classic will begin at 7:45 am ET on Friday. Joel Dahmen, Bill Haas and Henrik Norlander will tee off from the first hole, while Ben Taylor, Ryo Hisatsune and Chandler Phillips will start their round at the same time from the tenth tee.

Following the first round, Springer holds a two-shot lead over Sami Valimaki, who fired a 61. Eric Cole is in third place after shooting 9-under 62.
