John Daly has been assigned the moniker of Santa as Christmas fast approaches. However, in a boozy twist, it is tied to a special brand of vodka inspired by the 1991 PGA Champion.
Good Boy Vodka founder Alex Pratt took to social media to share a snap of a truckload of his Daly-inspired cocktail cans. Pratt called him "Santa Daly" in his Instagram story and the golfer reshared the post on the platform.
The special cocktails are ready-to-drink and feature a concoction of natural tea, fruit juice, and premium Good Boy Vodka with zero carbonation. They have zero sugar, zero carbs, and are only 95 calories. The Daly-inspired drop has a variety of flavors including iced tea, black berry iced tea, raspberry iced tea, and peach iced tea, each paired with lemonade.
While each flavor can be bought individually at $14.99 on their website, Good Boy Vodka also sells a variety pack that includes two of each John Daly-inspired cocktail flavors at $23.99 on their website.
"'Grip-eth it and Sip-eth it' - St. John Daly" - Good Boy Vodka posts for holiday season
The spirit of Christmas has consumed the advertising world and Good Boy Vodka has channeled it into promoting their John Daly-inspired line of cocktails.
The vodka company posted a picture of Daly dressed up as Santa Claus and called him Saint John Daly. The brand even gave a fun twist to the US golfer's signature line, "Grip it and Rip it", turning it into "Grip-eth it and Sip-eth it". Good Boy Vodka labeled the post as "Ye olde Holiday Inspirations".
The special cocktail cans feature a silhouette of Daly doing a swing and also bear his signature line. This special collaboration was launched in early 2023.
Good Boy Vodka founder Alex Pratt talked about wanting to create "clean, fun and flavorful" products that the "consumers want". He said (via Forbes):
"We focus on creating products around what consumers want, something clean, fun, and flavorful. Most brands go deep into a market and try to build up a huge consumer base before they go wide, but that's not the case for us."
He added:
"Instead, we focus daily on getting our products in front of as many people as possible and letting them decide if they like them. Many people have told me we are crazy, but it seems to be working so far."
Apart from John Daly, the vodka brand also partnered with motorsport legend Travis Pastrana.
