Scottie Scheffler is at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas to defend his Hero World Challenge title. This will be Scheffler's penultimate appearance in 2024.
However, Scheffler has no plans to prolong his return to the links. Golf Channel journalist Todd Lewis reported on X (formerly Twitter) that the world number one will play five of the first seven events in 2025:
"Scottie Scheffler out playing a practice round this morning before the Hero World Challenge. Shockingly, he was striping it! Scheffler said he will play five of the first seven events for 2025. @TheSentry [The Sentry], @theamexgolf [The American Express], @attproam [AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am], @WMPhoenixOpen [WM Phoenix Open] & @thegenesisinv [The Genesis Invitational."
These five tournaments cover the first seven weeks of the 2025 season. According to the report, Scheffler will play The Sentry in Hawaii from January 2-5, and two weeks later, he will play The American Express in California.
Scottie Scheffler will then take another week off before playing three tournaments in consecutive weeks. They will be the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Jan. 30-Feb. 2), the WM Phoenix Open (Feb. 6-9), and the Genesis Invitational (Feb. 13-16).
This was exactly the same schedule that Scheffler followed to start the 2024 season. He finished in the top 10 in four of those five events, with a T3 at the Phoenix Open his best finish.
A look at Scottie Scheffler's schedule for the rest of 2025
Scottie Scheffler has not revealed his schedule beyond the Genesis Invitational. However, he will most likely be in Florida three weeks later (March 6-9) to defend his title at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
One week after that (March 13-16) is The Players Championship. Scheffler will undoubtedly be at TPC Sawgrass to defend his title in one of the most important tournaments of the year.
March 27-30 is the Texas Children Houston Open, a tournament where Scheffler played last season and lost the title in a close match to Stephan Jaeger. Scheffler has not missed this tournament since 2020 and is likely to play in 2025 as well.
Two weeks later is the first major of the season, the Masters Tournament, where Scheffler will also be defending his title.
Scheffler surprised the golf world by playing the RBC Heritage in 2024, a week after winning The Masters. The Texan won the title at Hilton Head and will most likely defend it in 2025.
After that, Scheffler is likely to rest until the next Signature Event, the Truist Championship, which will be played May 8-11. The PGA Championship will be played a week later, and Scheffler will be in the field.
After the second major of the 2024 season, Scheffler played just one regular tournament, coupled with the rest of the majors and Signature Events. In 2025, his schedule should be similar, ending with the FedEx Cup Playoffs:
- Charles Schwab Challenge (May 22-25)
- the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (May 29-June 1)
- U.S. Open (June 12-15)
- Travelers Championship (June 19-22)
- The Open Championship (July 17-20)
- FedEx St. Jude Championship (Aug. 7-10)
- BMW Championship (Aug. 14-17)
- TOUR Championship (Aug 21-24)
Scheffler played 19 tournaments in 2024, recording seven wins, two runner-up finishes, and seven other top-10s.
