Scottie Scheffler, who recently won the Hero World Challenge at Albany with a score of 25 under 263, has decided to auction his car for a great cause. The model, the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, is being auctioned off to raise money for cancer patients at the Triumph Over Kid Cancer charity.

The starting bid at the Heritage Auctions was $50000, and Jim Nantz set the first bid at a fundraising event in Houston. Scheffler chose the TOKC foundation to donate the money because his friend James Ragan started it, who died of Osteosarcoma. Scheffler said, via GolfWeek:

“James was a buddy that I grew up with playing golf. He passed away due to cancer but he started this foundation…It’s something we’re very passionate about.”

Scheffler's car has an interesting story, dating 12 years back when the World No. 1’s high school team attended the Masters. Then, his dad drove to the venue in his family GMC and the car broke down. Later, the 2024 Masters champion bought a new white GMC Yukon to drive home from Augusta.

Scottie’s car dubbed as ‘GMC Airlines’ transported him to junior tournaments, AJGA events, and other competitions covering miles. He also took it to mini-events and Monday qualifiers in 2018 after turning into a professional golfer. He also disclosed that he drove his car for a long time.

“I definitely drove it for too long,” Scheffler said.

Scheffler also compared his car with his caddie, Ted Scott’s Toyota, and said:

“He’s like, ‘No way, man, Toyotas run forever, my car is worth way more than your car,’...We had this back and forth and we kept hitting balls and I said, ‘I got it, my car is worth more than your car because mine has the Masters GMC logo on the back and I’m a Masters champion.’”

The Heritage Auctions will donate 100% of their commission to the TOKC foundation.

Scottie Scheffler auctioned signed Olympics memorabilia and 30 minutes putting classes

In October, Scottie Scheffler gave a lucrative opportunity to his fans. The golf aspirants could get direct tips from Scheffler along with signed Olympic memorabilia. He participated in a silent auction with the non-profit organization called Behind Every Door.

With that, fans could bid for a 30-minute putting lesson. The second bidding opportunity allowed golf enthusiasts to have autographed Olympic memorabilia. The second bid included exciting prizes:

  • 2-hour Top-Golf tournament for fans with food and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Golf lesson with Scottie Scheffler's coach Randy Smith
  • $500 Gift Card, Hat, & Golf Accessories of MIZZEN & MAIN
  • Signed Memorial Tournament flag by Jack Nicklaus and World No. 1. Scottie Scheffler
