Scottie Scheffler, Victor Perez welcomed by a packed crowd at Olympics golf final round

Scottie Scheffler and Victor Perez were received by a packed crowd in the final round of the 2024 Olympics Golf at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France. Both Scheffler and Perez are playing in their first Olympics.

PGA Tour shared a picture of Scheffler's welcome on the first tee shot on X and captioned the post:

"Packed house for Scottie Scheffler off the first! #OlympicGolf | @TeamUSA | @USAGolf"

The home crowd gave a hero's welcome to French player Victor Perez. After the end of three rounds, Scheffler was tied on 6th with a score of -10 while Perez was positioned on 13th with -8.

At the time of writing, Scottie Scheffler scored three birdies on the first three holes while Perez scored a birdie on par-4 6th in the first eight holes. The World No. 1 jumped to T5 on the leaderboard, while Perez was still tied on 13th.

The massive grandstand behind the first tee on Le Golf National has elevated the experience and environment of Olympic Golf. Talking about the crowd support, Tommy Fleetwood said (via Olympic Golf):

"The crowd has been absolutely amazing. It's a different set of supporters than what we get week-in and week-out. It's a very Olympic crowd and atmosphere and it's been great."

Rory Mcllroy was surprised by the enormous support of the crowd at the Olympics. He said (via Olympics Golf):

"Unbelievable. It was surprising. With so many events going on spread all across the city, for people to venture out here and to watch us play, it was a really cool atmosphere to play in."

Jon Rahm is on the top of the leaderboard with a score of -17. He is competing with Xander Schauffele at -16, Hideki Matsuyama, and Tommy Fleetwood at -15 for the Olympics Gold Medal.
