Sean O'Hair shot his career-low 63 in the first round at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open yesterday. The tournament is being held at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Ontario from Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2.

Sean O'Hair was listed as the sixth alternate at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open. He planned to take a flight from Lubbock, Texas to reach Hamilton if he was added to the field.

By Tuesday morning, O'Hair was on the field because of several other golfers withdrawing. However, severe weather in Texas caused his flight to be cancelled. He had to drive from Lubbock to Dallas and take a flight from there to Toronto to reach the 2024 RBC Canadian Open.

O'Hair scored a bogey-free round of 7-under 63. After the round, he said (via PGA Tour):

"It's been so long since I shot a good score like that out here. I was pretty exhausted, so 7-under is pretty surprising. I'm probably more surprised than anybody. I don’t know, maybe I play my best golf that way."

O'Hair scored three birdies on the front nine and two birdies and a eagle on the back nine. When asked if he likes to be prepared before the tournament, he said (via PGA Tour):

"I like to be prepared. I just, I didn't have an option. I think when you don't really have an option and you're kind of making a big deal about it, it almost hurts you, so I kind of just said, look, I don't really expect a whole lot today, I haven't really been playing that great either, so to come out here and shoot the score I did today was definitely kind of a shocker for me. Ride it out I guess as long as I can."

O'Hair is currently tied for the second position with Sam Burns. David Skinns is on the top of the leaderboard with a score of 8-under 62.

Sean O'Hair will tee off in the second round at 12:11 p.m. with Justin Lower and Callum Tarren on Friday, May 31.
