LPGA star Nelly Korda comes from a sporting family, and her elder sister, Jessica, is also a professional golfer. Nelly turned pro six years after Jessica, but the duo soon made their mark on the golf circuit. Known for their close bond on and off the course, a glimpse of it was seen during Nelly's maiden LPGA Tour win.

Nelly Korda's first triumph came in 2018 at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, where she beat Minjee Lee by a two-stroke margin. Korda entered the final round of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship with a shared 54-hole lead.

With this win, Nelly Korda joined her elder sister Jessica to become only the third sibling duo to win on the LPGA Tour. During the winner's press conference, she also revealed her sister's reaction to her victory.

"She was saying how proud of me she is, and you know, she was crying probably more than me today,” she said as per Golf Digest. "But it’s a bond, like that you just can’t even think of. She’s definitely my best friend. She’s been there every step of the way. She knows exactly what I’ve gone through this year."

The then-20-year-old put forth an impressive performance throughout the day, picking up two birdies and an eagle to close with a 4-under 68. Joint leader and local favorite Wei-Ling Hsu struggled on Sunday and finished with a 75. Minjee Lee picked up birdies on the last two holes to finish as the runner-up at 2-under.

Korda added the win hadn't fully hit her yet, and it was tough to put the feeling into words.

"It's definitely one of the best days of my entire life," she said as per LPGA. "I can finally check that off of my list, winning an LPGA event, something that I dreamed of ever since I started playing."
