After Nike and Tiger Woods ended their iconic 27-year-long partnership earlier this year, the PGA Tour star launched his own brand, Sun Day Red. Aptly named as an ode to his final round outfits, the brand carries apparel and footwear.

This week, Woods launched the new Pioneer Cypress golf shoe. The traditional style golf shoe is now available on Sun Day Red's official website in five colorways and retails at prices ranging from $250 to a whopping $275.

Here's a look into the promo video for Woods' Pioneer Cypress (via X @SunDayRed):

Several golf enthusiasts were pleased with Sun Day Red's offerings as it allows them to own and wear products designed by Woods himself. However, some fans expressed discontent with the latest drop. One fan wrote on X:

"Shoulda stuck with Nike .... all this merch is trash now. Guess it fits his game though.."

One fan was super "stoked" with the launch. They shared that the classic look incorporated with modern technology makes for a perfect golf shoe. The fan attached a screenshot of his order and wrote:

"Can’t wait. Stoked for this one. Looks like all the classic style mixed with modern comfort."

Another user stated that the shoes are "totally cringe". They implied that Woods' new launch is overrated. The fan wrote:

"These are totally cringe......... Can we now be done with @TigerWoods... I'll pay attention again when he hits 50..."

Some fans were pleased with the product but missed Woods' iconic Nike look. A fan said:

"Never be the same without the swoosh logo," a fan opined.

A fan was so excited by the new Pioneer Cypress shoes that they rushed to buy a pair from the official website. They said:

"Copped so fast lol," a golf enthusiast wrote.

One user did not find the traditional look of the shoes appealing. They wrote:

"This shoe looks perfect for someone that’s 70. I wouldn’t buy these ever."

Tiger Woods issues an update on his health

Tiger Woods addressed the media for the first time in nearly five months at the 2024 Hero World Challenge. The 15-time major championship winner took the opportunity to give his fans an update on his spine injuries.

Woods revealed that he underwent his sixth spinal surgery in September and is nowhere near returning to competitive golf. He stated that he is not "sharp" and will not return until his body feels good.

Woods said (via Golf Monthly):

"I'm not sharp enough to compete against them. So when I'm ready to compete and play at this level, then I will. I am disappointed. I'm not physically ready yet to compete at this level. I still need to keep training to give myself the best chance into next year and the events ahead."

With the Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy-founded TGL league set to premiere on January 7 next year, fans are left wondering if he would be all right in time to play in the virtual golf-based tournament. The Sun Day Red founder stated that he needs intensive physical therapy, rehab, and strengthening before he can return to the course.
