Si Woo Kim is currently competing in the 2024 Open Championship. He made it to the weekend of the final major championship with a score of +5. On Day 3, the South Korean golfer had a decent round as he remained + 2 for the day after 16 holes.

However, to everyone's surprise, Si Woo Kim recorded the first ever hole-in-one of the 2024 Open Championship on the 17th hole at the Royal Troon Golf Club.

Si Woo Kim stood with an iron on the tee and found the perfect line as he landed the ball just on the edge of the green and allowed the momentum and slope to do the rest of the job.

The 17th hole is a long par 3 with a distance of 238 yards. The scoring average today on this hole is around 3.18 so far. This average shows that making a birdie on this hole is challenging, making Kim's hole-in-one even more precious.

Look back at Si Woo Kim's performance at the 2024 Open Championship

Si Woo Kim had a disappointing start to the 2024 Open Championship, as he carded three consecutive bogeys on the first three holes. He made a slight comeback with a couple of birdies on the seventh and eighth holes, respectively, and eventually carded +2 on the front nine.

On the back nine, the South Korean golfer had two double bogeys as he finished +5 on day one. After his day one performance, it was challenging for him to make it to the weekend.

Kim surprised everyone as he remained even par for the day and remained +5 for the event. Thankfully, the cut line came in at +6, and the 29-year-old golfer made it to the weekend by a stroke. He showcased an average performance on the moving day, but the ace on the 17th helped him remain even par for the day and +5 going into the final round.
