"Slick", "Pretty impressive work on Microsoft Word": Fans react to new LIV Golf Cleeks GC logo

Cleeks GC, a LIV Golf team captained by Martin Kaymer, has undergone a bit of a rebrand. They have redesigned their team logo ahead of the 2025 season's launch in February 2025. The old logo was a round "C" for Cleeks with a golf club going down and hooking behind it.

Their new logo is simpler, as it's just a C, and a more square one at that, sitting firmly on top of a golf tee. It's much less busy while still relaying the central theme and the golf nature of the logo.

Fans are having their say on the matter, and they're split on whether or not the team, which also includes Richard Bland, Adrian Meronk, and Frederik Kjettrup, made the right choice with a new look. One fan wrote:

"The world is going to be talking about it. Will be a buzz at sports bars around the globe. Pretty impressive work on Microsoft Word. What font did they use?"

"Slick," another fan wrote.

"Looks a little more fitting to me," a fan noted.

"If their colors are black and white that would be a travesty," one said.

"Clean? Clip Art you mean," another chimed in.

"Weak. The old one was better," another one stated.

"Old one was way better, it's not too late to reverse course guys," one fan implored.

"Someone got paid a lot of money for changing their name to a template design in a free design app lol," another said.

Redesigns can be risky, as they change something fans have been familiar with and associate that team with. If it's not a good redesign, it could tarnish the goodwill they had built up.

Cleeks also got a new general manager for the 2025 season, so things are changing rapidly for the club. Jonas Martensson, the former CEO of Minecraft, is taking that role.

LIV Golf star wants to see ranking overhaul

LIV Golf remains without OWGR points for its events. This makes it a little harder, though far from impossible, for the players to make it into the Majors. One LIV star believes that should change.

Graeme McDowell said (via Mirror):

“It’s disappointing not to have more access to the majors. LIV are working really hard behind the scenes to continue to get us access to the major events which I believe we deserve access to them."

He went on:

“Whether that be winners out here or top five in the money list, not already exempt. I’m hoping they’re going to come to us with some pretty good news. Fingers crossed. If you win on the PGA Tour you get exempt for various majors. You’re telling me a win out here is not similar... people will believe it is not of similar stature but I believe it is, if not better than some PGA Tour events."

This has been the subject of debate since LIV's formation, and the OWGR recently put a hold on the conversation. They said that LIV Golf events were too dissimilar from everything else and they couldn't award points.
