“So…like a PGA Tour event?”; “Hilarious” – Fans troll Bryson DeChambeau for dubbing LIV Chicago venue a ‘Major championship-like test’

Following LIV Golf Chicago, Bryson DeChambeau described the Bolingbrook Golf Course as a Major championship-like test. However, fans online didn’t seem to agree with this statement.

On Sunday, September 15, DeChambeau carded a 2-under 68 in the final round of LIV Golf Chicago, finishing at 5-under, six strokes behind winner Jon Rahm. However, his team, Crushers GC, managed to win the team title, beating Rahm’s Legion XIII by one shot.

During the winner’s press conference, DeChambeau praised the Bolingbrook Golf Club and expressed hope for LIV’s return to Illinois next season as well.

"Illinois is a fantastic state," he said. "It's always been a great golf community. Golf courses are always fantastic, and shoot, Bolingbrook -- this golf course played close to a Major championship test. There were some shots out there that I'm like, wow, this is playing exactly like a jumper in the US Open would right now.

"The greens that firm with the rough all around it, it was pretty difficult. I'd love to see us come back here and have some more of this type of golf because I truly do love it," he added.
