“Some questionable pairings” - Solheim Cup US team hits back at podcast questioning the team’s decisions after going 4-0 up

The US Team dominated the golf course on the first day of the 2023 Solheim Cup. They created history after taking the lead in the tournament by 4-0 by defeating the European team in a Friday morning foursome match.

The American team recently took a jibe at the No Lying Up podcast in which they said that the Solheim Cup has some questionable pairing. The host of the podcast questioned why Lexi Thompson was going first on Day 1.

One of the hosts said:

"It is a shock to the system. Why is Lexi going first?"

As the US team won all of the morning matches, they took to X account to slam the podcast host by re-sharing their video with a caption saying:

"sOmE QUesTiOnable pAirIngs"

Fans also jumped into the comments section to congratulate the US team for their lead in the tournament. One user wrote:

"This is incredible!"

"Great call LPGA, these dramas boys know nada about golf... all the questionable pairing were from Europe IMO.... and they're doing it again in the arvo Fourballs," wrote another.

"Mostly from dudes. I saw some didn't even know how qualifying for the team worked. "Why did they pick Lexi?" Um, they didn't, she made the team," commented another user.

Solheim Cup Friday Foursome result

For the Friday Foursome match, Lexi Thompson paired up with Megan Khang. The pair played against Maja Stark and Linn Grant and registered a 2&1 victory over the European duo.

Danielle Kang teamed up with Andrea Lee and Nelly Korda played with Allisen Corpuz. The American team's last pairing for the foursome match was Ally Ewing and Cheyenne Knight.

Interestingly, all of them won their matches against the European team and took a 4-0 lead.

The 2023 Solheim Cup got under on September 22 and will run through the weekend to have its finale on Sunday, September 24. The tournament is taking place at Finca Cortesin in Andalusia Golf Course in Spain.
