The Sony Open in Hawaii 2025 is set to tee off on Thursday, January 9, at the at Waialae Country Club, Honolulu. The event, second of the new PGA Tour season after The Sentry in Maui, will feature a stacked 144-man field. The golfers will compete for the $1.566 million winner’s paycheck from the of the $8.7 million purse and 500 FedEx Cup points.
The newest edition of the Sony Open in Hawaii will tee off at 12:10 pm ET on Thursday with Henrik Norlander, Rico Hoey and David Skinns on the first tee. The pairing of Andrew Putnam, Doug Ghim and Carson Young will follow suit at 12:20 pm ET. They will be followed by Thomas Detry, Ben Griffin and Patrick Fishburn at 12:30 pm ET.
The Sony Open will mark the return of a list of PGA Tour regulars to the circuit after a break. Sahith Theegala, Billy Horschel, Kurt Kitayama, Corey Conners, Nick Dunlap, Russell Henley, and J.T. Poston will be among the biggest names teeing up this weekend. Event favorite Theegala will tee up at 5:30 pm ET alongside Russell Henley and last weekend’s The Sentry champion Hideki Matsuyama.
Notably, Sony Open in Hawaii honored the event’s defending champion late Grayson Murray ahead of the competition. 2024 runner-up Byeong Hun An will return this weekend and will tee off at 1:00 pm ET alongside Taylor Pendrith and Chris Kirk.
