PGA Tour pro Michael Kim took a jibe at the Middle East partners over their new deals in sports. Recently, ESPN journalist Brian Windhorst shared a post with an update on the Middle East partners' investment in the NBA.

Windhorst mentioned the Celtics and Nuggets starting their preseason in Abu Dhabi and provided insights into the Middle Eastern partners' growing interest in the league. Sharing the post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Windhorst wrote:

"Celtics & Nuggets are kicking off preseason in Abu Dhabi, which has become one of the NBA’s closet partners as the relationship with China has slowed. Middle East partners are looking for more, including ownership someday, and the league’s ties there are deepening."

Michael Kim jumped into the comments section to take a sly jibe at the investors. He wrote:

Notably, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) has heavily invested in golf and launched a new series called LIV. The series has been making headlines since its inception.

LIV Golf features limited-field events with no cuts, awarding prize money to all the players competing in the tournaments. Interestingly, the PGA Tour has also decided to merge with PIF, and the deal is still under negotiation.

Recently, Rory McIlroy opened up about the potential merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, stating that it has taken time due to the billions of dollars involved. He said (via CBS Sports):

"Maybe it's going too slow for the people that follow golf. In the business world, deals of this size take time. You are talking about billions of dollars changing hands, different jurisdictions. I think we'll know a lot more by year's end. We're in October, so hopefully [there's] three months to get something done."

Meanwhile, this week's golfers have teed it up at the Sanderson Farms Championship on the PGA Tour and at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the DP World Tour. Michael Kim also participated in the PGA Tour event this week.
