Brooks Koepka has committed to the DP World Tour's 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The Home of Golf, St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland, will host this event in October, which is one of the reasons why Koepka has committed to this event.
The 34-year-old golfer recently revealed that St. Andrews is his favorite golf course in the world, and he loves competing on this historic venue, via Alfred Dunhill Links Championship page.
"I’ve been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year," Koepka said.
"I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favorite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it," the LIV Golfer revealed.
Brooks Koepka said he loves the atmosphere on and off the course at the Alfred Dunhill Links, and his previous two outings at this tournament have been memorable.
The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic. I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another. Those two weeks will always be very special to me," he said.
Brooks Koepka's performance in 2024
Brooks Koepka had a good outing this year with two victories on LIV Golf. He won the LIV Golf Singapore event and the LIV Golf Greenbrier event. However, the American golfer couldn't replicate this in the major championships, as his best finish was T26 at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open.
Despite registering two wins this year on LIV Golf, Koepka is not in contention to win the 2024 LIV Golf individual championship. The LIV Golf Chicago is the final individual event, and only Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann are in contention to win the season-long race.
The 5-time LIV Golf winner is placed 4th in the season-long individual rankings, and even if he manages to win the Chicago event, he won't be able to get past Rahm or Niemann.
In the team championship aspect, Koepka's team, Smash GC, has a chance of winning in Dallas next week. Smash GC is ranked 4th and will need strong finishes, preferably wins, to take the season-long team championship.
The Crushers and Legion XIII are the favorites, as they ranked first and second with 176.50 and 176 points, respectively. Ripper GC is placed third at 151 and will look to reduce the gap with the leaders at LIV Golf Chicago this week.
Brooks Koepka will be in action this week at LIV Golf Chicago, starting 13 September at Bolingbrook Golf Club.
