Cameron Smith's Ripper GC won the season-long 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship at Dallas. He also had a decent individual season, as he finished 7th in the season-long individual championship.
Reflecting on the 2024 LIV Golf season, Smith talked about LIV Golf Adelaide and said it was his favorite golf event (via Ripper GC on X).
"That's the best golf event I have ever played."
LIV Golf Adelaide is one of the most famous events on the tour as it contains a party hole and the on-course atmosphere for the entire week is among the best in the world.
"Yeah, I think everyone had a good time in Adelaide for sure. I think that was probably the highlight of most of everyone's year out here. It was hard not to enjoy. I think the Aussie crowd was pretty rowdy," Smith said ahead of the LIV Golf Chicago event in September.
At the 2024 LIV Golf Adelaide event, Smith finished 20th, but his team, Ripper GC, managed to win the team event in the playoff against Stinger GC.
The 2025 LIV Golf Adelaide will begin on February 14th at the Grange Golf Club. The ticket sale for the event has already started, with fans having a chance to watch world-renowned Aussie DJ and producer Dom Dolla live, apart from some scintillating golf.
Cameron Smith says he is much happier after joining LIV Golf
Cameron Smith joined LIV Golf in 2022 when he was World No.2 in the OWGR and won the 2022 Open Championship. The Australian golfer decided to take this decision and believes it was the best decision. He believes that compared to before, he is much happier now.
"It was the best decision of my life," Smith revealed to the Herald Sun.
"Not only from where the tour is going and where it will end up but also from a life standpoint as well. The extra time I get to spend in Australia compared to what I used to means a lot. I feel like I am a much happier person now compared to where I was before," the Aussie golfer said.
Even though Smith did not register a win this season, he played some decent golf and registered three runner-up finishes. The 31-year-old had his best season in 2023 as he won two events and had one runner-up finish to remain second in the season-long individual championship.
Cameron Smith will be hoping to replicate that performance in the upcoming 2025 LIV Golf season, which begins on February 6, 2025 in Jeddah, before moving to Australia for the LIV Golf Adelaide event.
