Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes opened up about their win on their home soil at the 2024 Presidents Cup. The Canadian duo paired up for the Friday foursomes matches at the biennial tournament on September 27.

Although the International team had a rough start, losing all their Thursday matches, they bounced back on Friday, winning all five foursomes matches. Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes also secured a victory against Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau.

Following their win, Hughes reflected on his performance and the experience of playing in front of a home crowd, saying (via SB Nation):

“Corey and I were excited to play together, but we also wanted the crowd. The crowd delivered in a big way today. Corey and I won the match, but the crowd was the third member of our team. They were huge today. We felt their energy on every tee, every green, walking down every hole. That was big for us, and we need more of that this week," Mackenzie Hughes said.

Additionally, Corey Conners shared his thoughts on the victory. He said (via SB Nation):

"They were really vital to our success. They were cheering us on the whole way. It was just a blast to play in front of the fans in our home country and to get the victory,” Conners said.

Heading into the third round on Saturday, September 28, the International team was tied 5-5 with Team USA. However, the International team players struggled on Saturday, allowing Team USA to regain the lead.
