On the first day, Team USA won all five fourball matches and took the lead. However, Friday, September 27, saw an outstanding comeback from the International Team, who won all of their foursome matches. After two rounds, the teams are tied at 5-5.

Nuclr Golf shared the news of the International Team's impressive second-day performance at the 2024 Presidents Cup on its X (formerly Twitter) account, stating:

"🚨😲🏆 #CLEAN SWEEP 🧹 — The International team absolutely smoked the U.S. team on day 2 of the #PresidentsCup . The two sides are now tied 5-5 heading into Saturday morning Four-ball sessions. 😮‍💨"

"I couldn’t be happier, I am so proud of them"-International Team Captain Mike Weir on his team performance at the 2024 Presidents Cup

After a rough start on the first day of the 2024 Presidents Cup, the International Team was impressive on the second day with a remarkable comeback. Team captain Mike Weir praised his players for their outstanding performances. Speaking about his team in a post-match press conference, Weir said (via AS.com):

“I don’t think there’s any one moment, or one or two moments, I think it’s collective. We’re all in this together, we all had great belief. I’m just so proud of the guys and how they fought. They knew they were right in the matches. It went their way yesterday and it it went our way today. That’s golf, as we all know”.

“It’s a game of nerves and controlling nerves but I was confident about our guys, I’m just so proud of them, so pumped for them - to play that well yesterday and not have any points on the board was disappointing so to see their hard work and them sticking in there, and we the captains doing the same and believing... I couldn’t be happier. I am so proud of them," he added.

In Friday's foursome matches, Hideki Matsuyama teamed up with Sungjae Im and defeated Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele 7&6. Adam Scott and Taylor Pendrith played together against Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa, winning 5&4.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Tom Kim narrowly beat Max Homa and Brian Harman 1 up, while Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes defeated Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau 6&5. In the final match of the day, Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An overcame Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.

On Saturday, players will compete in four fourballs and four foursome matches at the Presidents Cup, followed by Sunday singles.
