The Genesis Invitational has launched an "LA Strong" shirt to raise funds and support the wildfire victims of the region. They have collaborated with Fanatics, the global apparel brand, to support this cause and help those impacted by the tragic incident in Southern California.

Last week, the fire erupted and spread across Southern California, especially the LA region. So far, the wildfire has claimed 24 lives, with 16 people still missing. Over 150,000 people have been displaced, and more than 12,000 properties have been either destroyed or damaged.

On Sunday, January 12, the Genesis Invitational, a Tiger Woods-hosted PGA Tour event that takes place in Southern California, released the shirts in association with Fanatics.

"The Genesis Invitational has teamed up with and the LA sports community to support those impacted by the tragic wildfires," the official statement read. "Fanatics, Leagues, and the participating sports organizations will not profit from the sale of the LA Strong merchandise and will make a donation directly to the American Red Cross and the LA Fire Department Foundation.
"The American Red Cross provides assistance to those affected by these fires and the LA Fire Department Foundation provides much needed support and equipment to first responders."

Each "LA Strong' shirt costs $35 and can be purchased from the official website of Fanatics.

When will the Genesis Invitational 2025 take place?

The Genesis Invitational 2025 will take place from February 13 to 16 at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. This will be one of the eight signature events on the PGA Tour and will not feature a 36-hole cut. The purse size of the event will be a whopping $20 million with the winner receiving a $4 million paycheck.

However, Palisades is among the worst-affected regions of the LA wildfire, and the PGA Tour has yet to confirm whether the Genesis Invitational will be played at Riviera. Last week, the tournament officials released an official statement regarding the current situation.

"We are continuing to monitor the devastating fires in our community," the statement read. "Our immediate concern is the health and welfare of those in the affected areas. We are grateful to the first responders who have tirelessly supported and protected our community."

Hideki Matsuyama is the defending champion at the Riviera. Last year, he had beaten Luke List and Will Zalatoris to win his ninth title on the PGA Tour.
