The Open Championship Round 1 tee times and pairings explored

Day 1 of The Open Championship 2024 will tee off at 01:35 am ET on Thursday, July 18. The event, being played on the Old Course at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland, will see 158 golfers compete for the prestigious Claret Jug and a $3,100,000 winner’s paycheck from the $17,000,000 prize purse.

Round 1 of The Open Championship will begin at 1:35 am ET on Thursday with Justin Leonard, Todd Hamilton and Jack McDonald on the first tee. The pairing of Tom McKibbin, Alex Noren and Calum Scott will follow suit at 01:46 am ET, while Jesper Svensson, Vincent Norrman and Michael Hendry will follow them at 01:57 am ET.

Notably, World No. 1 and Open Championship favorite Scottie Scheffler will enjoy a late tee-off at 10:10 am ET. He will be joined by Jordan Spieth and Cameron Young. The group will follow the pairing of Shane Lowry, Cameron Smith and Matt Fitzpatrick, teeing off at 09:59 am ET.

Meanwhile, World No. 2 Rory McIlroy will tee off his Open Championship campaign alongside Max Homa and Tyrrell Hatton at 05:09 am ET. US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau will take his first tee with Ludvig Aberg and Tom Kim at 04:47 am ET. They will follow the pairing of Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood and Robert MacIntyre, taking the first tee at 04:36 am ET.

Notably, Tiger Woods, returning to pro golf after a break, will take his first tee at 09:37 am ET. Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay will join him. The ace golfer’s group is sandwiched between the pairings of Wyndham Clark, Hideki Matsuyama, Brooks Koepka teeing off at 09:26 am ET and Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Si Woo Kim hitting the first tee of the Open Championship at 09:48 am ET.
