The Sentry 2025 will take place from Thursday, January 2, to Sunday, January 5, at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii. The first event of the PGA Tour season will also be the first of eight Signature Events. This means it will feature a limited 60-player field with a purse size of $20 million.

1) Xander Schauffele
Xander Schauffele is the highest-ranked player in the season opener in Scheffler's absence. Speaking of past performances, he has four top-10 finishes at the Sentry, including a win and a runner-up finish.
Schauffele has been on a great run and registered 15 top-10 finishes last season. He also ended his two-year winning drought by winning the PGA Championship and the Open Championship.
2) Collin Morikawa
Collin Morikawa is once again among the top names in the power rankings, considering his past record here. He has never finished outside the T7 at the Sentry and was tied for fifth last year.
The 27-year-old golfer didn't win a title last year but finished runner-up in the FedEx Cup.
3) Sahith Theegala
Sahith Theegala, last year's runner-up, is expected to perform well again at the Sentry 2025. Last year, he finished third in the FedEx Cup and registered five top-five finishes.
4) Sungjae Im
Sungjae Im has three top-10 finishes at the Sentry in four appearances. He had a memorable 2024, defending his Woori Financial Group Championship title and claiming eight top-10 finishes.
5) Justin Thomas
Justin Thomas is back on track after a slump in 2023 and recently had a T2 finish at the Zozo Championship and a third-place finish at the Hero World Challenge. He also has a great record at Kapalua and has claimed two wins.
6) Hideki Matsuyama
Hideki Matsuyama has three top-four finishes at the Sentry and is expected to do well again. Speaking of recent form, he had two big wins in 2024 and recently finished joint runner-up at the Dunlop Phoenix.
