“There’s a lot of cool owners” - Talor Gooch on investing in top sports venture

LIV Golf star Talor Gooch has made another investment in sports after buying Professional Bull Riders franchise Oklahoma Wildcatters earlier this year. He has invested in Sport Fishing Championship and has bought the Mississippi Blues Angling Club.

Gooch is a former PGA Tour player who now competes on the LIV Golf circuit. He has won three titles on the Saudi circuit and was season winner last year.

On Friday, December 6, Mike McAllister shared a clip of his interaction with Gooch regarding his latest investment.

"Yeah, it's exciting, you know, obviously I love sports," he said. "I think there's a lot of opportunity in the sports world right now. There's a bunch of cool owners getting into SFC specifically. And so yeah, it's gonna be exciting, and I'm looking forward to it."

McAllister then asked Gooch about his fishing skills.

Very average, very average," he replied. "I definitely will not be the the dude getting the job done. I'll I'll be, you know, watching and maybe having a drink in my hand and hanging out."

Gooch has made the investment via FJS ventures alongside Preston Lyon and Brandon Bates as minority investors.

How did Talor Gooch perform in 2024 season?

Unlike last year, Talor Gooch had an underwhelming 2024 season where he failed to record any win. However, he did make five top-10 finishes including a joint runner-up finish at Las Vegas.

Gooch also played competed at the PGA Championship and tied for sixty. Besides, he also played at the DP World Tour's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship but missed the cut.
