Tiger Woods addresses chances of playing the 2024 PNC Championship with son Charlie

Tiger Woods talked about his chances of playing at the 2024 PNC Championship. The American golfer last played at the Open Championship and has since been missing from the field of official tournaments. He was expected to make a comeback at the 2024 Hero World Challenge, which concluded with its finale on Sunday, December 8. But he missed the event.

During last week's event in the Bahamas, he joined the NBC booth for the final round coverage of the Hero World Challenge. During the coverage, the 15-time Major champion reflected on his chances of playing in the PNC Championship. He said:

"We'll see."

Following his outing at the final Major of the year, The Open Championship, Tiger Woods underwent back surgery and has been recovering from it. There were decent chances of him playing at the Hero World Challenge. However, just prior to the event, he announced his role in the tournament by sharing a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:

"I am disappointed that I will not be able to compete this year at the Hero World Challenge, but always look forward to being tournament host and spending the week with @HeroMotoCorp. Excited to welcome our exemptions @JustinThomas34 @JDayGolf and @NickDunlap62 into the field."

Meanwhile, at the recently concluded Hero World Challenge, Scottie Scheffler defended his title. He registered a six-stroke win over Tom Kim after shooting the final round of 63.

Tiger Woods is highly expected to make a comeback in official events at the 2024 PNC Championship with his son Charlie. However, the American golfer is missing from the initial field for the event. There will be a total of 20 teams playing at the event, but so far only 18 have been confirmed.

Although Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods' names are missing from the initial field, as per a report by Golf Digest, the Sun Day Red founder is "expected" to play in the event and is waiting for official confirmation.

Notably, the 2024 PNC Championship will take place at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club from December 21 to 22.
