The unique golf tournament features two rounds, where teams compete in an 18-hole course. 20 major champions along with their family members compete for the Willie Park Trophy every year. Tiger Woods and his son Charlie are also participating in the tournament at Orlando.
After Round 1, Team Woods is in contention to win the PNC Championship for the first time. The two were at the top of the overnight leaderboard with a first round score of 13-under par.
After the opening round, Woods expressed his thoughts and spoke about his aim for the final round.
"We're right there. There's a bunch of teams that are up there. We're going to have to shoot another ground tomorrow. And you know, make a bunch of birdies and hopefully we can do that and get off to a good start, and then develop it into the back nine."
Tiger Woods underwent back surgery in September and made his return to professional golf at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club along with his son after a five-month absence. This is Tiger and Charlie’s fifth appearance at the PNC Championship. Last year, they finished at 19-under. All eyes will be on Team Woods as Tiger and his son try to clinch the title by dethroning Team Langer.
