Tiger Woods gave an important update on his health after there was some speculation about Woods and painkillers at The Open Championship. The American golfer made a comeback at the British Open after two years but struggled with his game and failed to make the cut.

Following the second round of the Major, Woods spoke about his health and stated that although he did not have a good result on the golf course, his health has improved, and he has "physically, gotten better."

Speaking of his health, Woods said (via Ten Golf):

“I'd like to have played more, but I just wanted to make sure that I was able to play in the major championships this year. I got a lot of time off to get better physically, which has been the case all year. I've gotten better even though my results really haven't shown it."
"But physically, I've gotten better, which is great, and I just need to keep progressing like that. And then eventually start playing more competitively and start getting into the competitive flow again," he added.

Woods was involved in a car accident in 2021. Apart from that, he has undergone numerous surgeries through the course of his career; he was forced to withdraw from the Masters last year because of injury.

However, his health has improved in the last few months; this year, he has played in all four Majors but only made the cut at the Masters. However, Woods found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard at Augusta National after struggling through the final two rounds.

When Former PGA Tour star spoke of alleged knowledge of Tiger Woods using PED

Earlier this year, former PGA Tour star Mark Lye claimed that there was knowledge in the golfing fraternity of Tiger Woods using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).

Lye made this shocking claim on an episode of Don't @Me with Dan Dakich, stating that 80-90 percent of people in the industry were aware of it. Responding to a question about people in the golf world knowing about any possible use of PEDs by Woods, Lyle responded:

"It is except for the people in Tiger’s corner. ‘You better shut up about it.’ Nobody ever gone out like that. Nobody’s ever said that like I’m saying it right now. There’s just no doubt. And I would say about 80 or 90% of the people out there know something ain’t right," Lye said (via Fox News).

Despite struggling with his game on the greens, Woods is committed to competing in Majors and other events. However, he only plays in a handful of events nowadays.

Earlier this year, he was slated to compete at the Genesis Invitational but was forced to withdraw because of a fever. Woods will next probably return to the golf course to compete at the Hero World Challenge later this year.
