Legendary golfer Tiger Woods recently revealed why he is finicky about the depth of his pockets. The American golfer started his own apparel brand after parting ways with Nike in January 2024. He collaborated with his golf equipment manufacturer TaylorMade to create Sun Day Red. The brand is known for its golf apparel, accessories, and other golf products.
Recently, Sun Day Red shared a video of Tiger Woods on its X (formerly Twitter) account in which the five-time Masters winner revealed the secret for having "certain" depth in his pants pockets. The American golfer revealed he has depth to his pockets because of his yardage books. He said:
"Look, it's more of yardage books. How I sat to my back right pocket. My gloves go to my back right pocket, but it's about how that yardage book doesn't ride too high and on axis to broke quickly..... and so yeah, man, I don't wanna too shallow, but here, rights and and hole out. So, I am finicky about the depth of pocket, either front or back. You know, it has to be a certain depth, and I have learned that over the years of playing."
Notably, Tiger Woods endorses his Sun Day Red brand by wearing their clothes during his official tournaments. Earlier this month, he played at the PNC Championship 2024, and there he was spotted wearing Sun Day Red's apparel.
Tiger Woods on the gloves he prefers while playing
A week back, Sun Day Red dropped a video of Tiger Woods on their social media account, in which the 15-time Major winner revealed the kind of gloves he preferred to wear on the greens. Woods shared hands-on feedback on the gloves and provided valuable insight on how he used gloves for his grip. He said:
"Having preparation here because I used a lot of grip. And so I tend to sweat in the index finger quite a bit because of my right hand and how it interlocks. So having that grip and having that ability to having it breathe is very key for usage it over to time. Having no more shots, sweating a lot, putting through gloves, or having durability in gloves is a key.
"I don't like gloves that are too thin, and I don't like gloves that are too heavy, or too thin. So I... I am very... that was a hands-on... I am very picky with how my gloves fit, and if it doesn't fit perfectly, it alters my wrist moment throughout the golf shot, and can't have that happen," he added.
Tiger Woods launched his own apparel brand in 2024, and now he also has a surprise for fans next year. The legendary American golfer has created a brand-new tech-infused golf series named TGL, in collaboration with Rory McIlroy.
The series is set to make its debut in 2025. It will start with its inaugural season on January 7, just following the conclusion of the PGA Tour season-opening The Sentry.
