Tiger Woods ex-coach in shock after PGA Tour pro compares Scottie Scheffler to the 15x Major winner

Following Scottie Scheffler's eighth win of the year, Byeong Hun An remarked that Scheffler's incredible 2024 season was as good as any season of Tiger Woods. However, Woods' former coach Hank Haney did not agree with the PGA Tour pro.

On Sunday, December 8, Scheffler fired a remarkable 9-under 63 in the final round of the Hero World Challenge to aggregate at 25-under and secure a six-stroke victory over Tom Kim. With his eighth win of the year, he equaled the record held by Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh for the most wins in a single season since 1950.

After Scheffler's Hero World Challenge triumph, Hun An compared the golfer's season to that of Tiger Woods.

"I don’t care what anyone says, Scottie this season was as good as one of Tiger’s best seasons on tour," he wrote on X.

However, Haney was surprised by Hun An's comments.

"What," wrote Haney.

After Haney and other fans online disagreed with Hun An's opinion, he clarified his comments in another post.

"Guys, I’m not saying he is as good as Tiger, but Scottie’s 2024 definitely goes into one of the best. If you really know golf, and when you look at his golfing stats (not winning or tournaments) it’s a phenomenal season," he wrote.

In another post, he took a dig at older people for getting offended by the comparison between Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler.

During the post-round interview, Scottie Scheffler reflected oh his incredible run in 2024.

"I think it's been a great year, it's been a fun year," he said. "I've been fortunate to get some wins out of some really good golf. This was another week where I played really solid and was able to see some nice results from that. Overall it was a pretty fun year."

Scottie Scheffler competed in 19 events this season and made 16 top-10 finishes. He won eight events this season and also claimed the gold medal in the Olympics.
