Tiger Woods' former coach, Hank Haney, recently praised Scottie Scheffler for his impressive swings. The current World No. 1 has been enjoying a phenomenal season in 2024, having already won six tournaments and a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Additionally, he is leading the ongoing Tour Championship after two rounds.

Haney took to his X account to comment on Scheffler's swing, calling it one of the best things that happened in golf. He wrote:

"One of the best things that’s happened to golf in a long time is Scottie Scheffler’s swing, balance is overrated."

Notably, Hank Haney worked with Tiger Woods for around six years, from 2004 to 2010, a period widely regarded as the peak of Woods' career. During this time, Woods won 31 PGA Tour events and clinched victories in six major championships.

Hank Haney responds with a 16-word reply after fan accuses him of destroying Tiger Woods' swing

Earlier this month, a fan accused Haney of destroying Woods' swing. However, the coach quickly responded with a 16-word reply, sharing a tweet by Brandel Chamblee that supported how good Tiger Woods was while working with Haney.

PGA Tour Live shared a video of Rory McIlroy, where the four-time major winner seemingly practiced his swing. In response, Haney commented on the post and offered advice to improve the swing, writing:

"If he kept his head right there until impact he’d be hard to ever beat."

A fan in the comments section reacted to Haney's advice, blaming him for destroying Woods' swing. The fan wrote:

"The guy who destroyed tiger woods swing , talking"

In reply, the coach shared another post, a screenshot of a tweet from golf journalist Brandel Chamblee. In the tweet, Chamblee discussed how impressive Woods was during his peak years, comparing his strokes gained in 2006—when he was working with Haney—with those of Scottie Scheffler, the best ball striker on tour, and Mackenzie Hughes, the best all-around short game player on tour.

The combined number for Scheffler and Hughes was around +3.398, while Woods' strokes gained in 2006 was +3.443. Chamblee praised Woods by writing:

"There has never been a more complete player in the game's history than Tiger Woods."

Haney responded to the fan who accused him of destroying Tiger Woods' swing by writing:

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but no one is entitled to their own facts."

Woods is undeniably one of the most acclaimed players in golf history. He has won 15 major titles, the second-highest ever. However, in recent years, Woods has struggled with his game and has rarely competed in professional events. In 2024, he only played in five tournaments.
