Tiger Woods is reportedly being sued by his now ex-girlfriend Erica Herman. The two had been together for over five years before they recently split, and she is suing him over an NDA she was forced to sign.
Herman filed a suit trying to get the NDA that she signed in 2017 removed.
She alleges the assault and cites the Speak Out Act, which “prohibits the judicial enforceability of a nondisclosure clause or nondisparagement clause agreed to before a dispute arises involving sexual assault or sexual harassment in violation of federal, tribal, or state law."
According to Us magazine, the court documents say:
“Because of the aggressive use of the Woods NDA against her by the Defendant and the trust under his control, the Plaintiff is unsure whether she may disclose, among other things, facts giving rise to various legal claims she believes she has.
"She is also currently unsure what other information about her own life she may discuss or with whom. There is therefore an active dispute between Plaintiff and Defendant for which the Plaintiff needs a clarifying declaration from the court.”
She claims that Woods made her sign an NDA in 2017 and that it is now being wrongfully applied to her. If she was allegedly assaulted, the NDA would be null and void, allowing her to do whatever she wants.
At this point, the NDA is mainly being enforced to prevent her from speaking out about the relationship, which evidently ended poorly. She had been noticeably absent from his most recent outings and this may explain why.
Jack Nicklaus talks about Tiger Woods' future
Jack Nicklaus may have some insight into what Tiger Woods' future holds. The golfer appears primed to retire, but Nicklaus says he plans to play the Champions Tour when he's 50.
Nick Faldo asked Nicklaus on his podcast:
“Obviously, poor Tiger, unfortunately. I commented after the dreadful accident, when people were saying, oh, he’s going to do this and do that, I said he’s got to be able to walk again. Poor fella. And it doesn’t sound good right now.”
Nicklaus responded:
“I don’t think he’s ever really going to play — he’s going to play the majors,” said Jack. “And he actually can still hit the ball pretty well. But he can’t walk. He can’t walk. And I told him, Tiger, you’re eligible to take a cart. He says, I’m not going to do that. He says, when I get to the senior tour, I will.”
Despite his bad health, Tiger Woods doesn't seem ready to retire at all.
