Tiger Woods will feature in the 'Fore Play' podcast's next video which will be released on Thursday this week. The podcast group has a staggering 494k subscribers on YouTube.
Woods appeared in their video in January last year as well. Host Sam 'Riggs' Bozoian and the golfer got into a long-drive competition. The video received appreciation from all corners of the golfing world especially because the golf legend got down on his knees to hit a shot and still out-drove Riggs. Fans also considered the move as a testament to Woods' improving health after his horrific 2021 car accident.
The YouTube video got a special mention on the Today Show. It was also one of the last times Woods appeared wearing his Nike gear. So the announcement of his return has created a new buzz of excitement.
Fore Play announced this new collaboration on their official X account. The influencer group posted a video of the ace golfer posing with the Fore Play members. The post was captioned:
"Fore Play x Tiger Woods. Dropping tomorrow,"
Despite only five competitive appearances, Tiger Woods topped this year's PIP rankings, beating the season's biggest golfer Scottie Scheffler. This just proves that the 15-time Major champion is still a huge fan favorite.
"I blacked out," - When Riggs got the opportunity to interview Tiger Woods for the first time
In 2018, Barstool Sports and Fore Play podcast host Sam 'Riggs' Bozoian got an opportunity to interview Tiger Woods during the first edition of 'The Match' played between the latter and Phil Mickelson.
The superfan had the chance to interview Woods in the locker room and even though he is a great speaker, he found himself at a loss of words. He said, via Golf.com:
"It’s a big locker room, so Tiger can clearly just sense that there’s another human in the room, and it’s me. I’m like, 'I can’t believe we’re here doing this.'"
He further added:
"Tiger comes walking right over with Joey (LaCava), and I introduce myself. I blacked out, I don’t even know what I said,"
Tiger Woods' caddy at the time Joe LaCava was Riggs' acquaintance as the former's son was a fan of Barstool Sports. LaCava gave Riggs a small pep talk to cheer him on. Riggs wore special attire for the occasion.
"I had on my shirt, one of the shirts we sold underneath that said ‘The GOAT’ on it that had Tiger with the backwards hat and the sunglasses. Tiger saw it and looked at it and said, ‘that’s funny as s—.’ It couldn’t have gone any better,"
He talked about how surreal the experience was.
"Oh my gosh, I remember every second of it. It was as high as it could possibly be. I’m a person that speaks for a living and I was concerned I wasn’t going to be able to talk,"
Riggs even posted on X about the experience of interviewing Woods.
