Tiger Woods reflected on the attention Charlie Woods has been receiving while playing at the 2024 PNC Championship. The father-son duo returned to play at the renowned tournament for the fifth straight time. They started the game pretty impressively and took the lead after the first round on December 21.
Following the event, during the press conference, Tiger Woods opened up about the environment at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. He said (via ASAP Sports):
"It's a different time and era. I didn't have this much attention. As you said, I met Jack that day, but also I met Byron Nelson for the first time that day, as well. That was a great day back in those days. I warmed up for Jack, and I had to get back for my high school match that afternoon."
"That's what Charlie is doing. He's playing golf with us, and then playing the high school matches. The type of attention is very different than what I had. We didn't have social media. We didn't have camera phones. We didn't have any of that. It was kind of hearsay amongst neighbors. It was a different time and era," he added.
Team Woods started their campaign at the 2024 PNC Championship with a solid round of 13-under 59. They shot a bogey-free round on Saturday to take the lead in the game.
They carded six birdies on the front nine and seven birdies on the back nine for a solid round of 13-under 59 and took the lead in the game in a tie with Team Langer and Team Singh.
