Tiger Woods held a press conference this Friday, December 20, at the end of his participation in the Pro-Am event of the 2024 PNC Championship. Woods is one of the top stars in the field for the event, in which he will play with his son Charlie.
Speaking from the Ritz Carlton Golf Club, the tournament's home, Tiger Woods touched on various topics. A reporter asked him for his thoughts on his best season as a professional, and Woods' answer echoed the sentiments of the vast majority of golf fans around the world.
Here's what Tiger Woods had to say (via ASAP Golf):
"I think 2000 I was good [laughs]." [0:07 - 0:12]
"I think just that year in general, I had everything working at the same time. I drove it well, hit my irons well. I made everything for a year. But I was able to capitalize on the good play at the same time."
Tiger Woods' 2000 season has been the center of debate in the golf world recently because of Scottie Scheffler's great 2024 season. Many fans compare what Scheffler did to what Woods did 24 years ago.
Tiger Woods also spoke about the current world number one on Friday. This is part of what he said:
"I think his consistency over the course of the last couple years. I mean, yes, as I said in the Bahamas, he moves around a lot in his swing, but you watch that ball flight, it doesn't really do a whole lot. He has amazing feel for hitting the ball the right number, and that's just something that is innate."
