Tiger Woods reveals his team's "secret weapon" ahead of TGL debut

Tiger Woods will make his TGL debut when his team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, takes on Los Angeles Golf Club on Tuesday. The league was inaugurated a week ago when The Bay Golf Club defeated New York City Golf Club by 9 points to 2.

Ahead of their debut, Jupiter Links Golf Club's X account posted a video of Tiger Woods being interviewed by teammate Tom Kim on Sunday. Woods discussed several attributes of his team, including a surprising "secret weapon."

This is what Tiger Woods had to say:

"[Our secret weapon] it's not strategy, it's rizz, baby, we got rizz, we got rizz." [Woods and Kim laughed] [1:04 - 1:11]

Rizz is a slang term used in digital environments to describe style, charm, or attractiveness. The term was popularized by American YouTuber and Twitch streamer Kai Cenat.

At other moments in the video, Woods offered his thoughts on how his team can outperform others. His response was succinct but forceful:

"That's easy. Win." [0:13 - 016]

As for which team might be the main rival for the Jupiter Links Golf Club in the TGL, Tiger Woods had this to say about it:

"Well, I think that we are the dominant team, so, dominant teams don't have rivals." [0:33 - 0:39]

Tom Kim, on the other hand, said that having Tiger Woods is one of the team's strengths and assured that the other three players will have to stay focused in order not to fail, as Woods is not used to making mistakes.

The second match of the 2025 TGL season will be played on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time at the SoFi Center, home of the league. Woods is scheduled to make his debut with his team.

In accordance with league rules, one player on the team will be on vacation and only three will compete. In the case of Jupiter Golf Link, the rested player will be Tom Kim.

Woods and his team's opponent will be Los Angeles Golf Club, which will have Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala. Tommy Fleetwood will be resting for the LA team.

This match will also be the debut of the Los Angeles team, who will be playing in an emotionally charged situation due to the fires currently (January 2025) raging in the city they represent.

This could be a sensitive issue during the match, as four of the six players who will be playing (Morikawa, Theegala, Woods, and Homa) hail from the Los Angeles area.
