Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy-led TGL extends to China, Latin America, Cairo & South Africa

TGL, founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is all set to begin next week on January 7. The SoFi Center located at Palm Beach Gardens on the campus of Palm Beach State College will host this new golf league.

The league has Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's name associated with it and has managed to rope in sponsors and broadcasters for over 100 countries. In the United States it will be broadcast on ESPN, while Sky Sports has the rights for the UK and a few European countries.

Josh Carpenter, a prominent golf journalist, has now shared a tweet, revealing that TGL has inked a contract with broadcasters in Asia and Africa as well. The tweet read:

"@TGL signed with Sky Sports before the holidays and now has inked additional deals in China (Shinai Sports), Latin America (Claro), South Africa (Super Sport) and Southeast Asia (BeIN Sport). TGL now has distribution in 113 countries/territories."

The TGL will feature prominent PGA Tour golfers like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, and others. The tournament features six teams named after six different cities, with each side featuring four golfers.

The six teams are Atlanta Drive, Boston Common Golf, Jupiter Links GC, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and The Bay Golf Club. The two founders of this event, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, are part of Jupiter Links GC and Boston Common Golf, respectively.
