Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's newly founded golf league, TGL, got off to an exceptional start yesterday at the SoFi Centre in Palm Beach Gardens on the campus of Palm Beach State College.
However, there's been a slight hiccup for the league as it experienced a broadcasting blunder on the first day of the event. Josh Carpenter, one of the most prominent golf journalists, revealed that fans watching the event live from the studio will receive an earpiece to hear what players are talking about.
However, he is not sure how it would work as the earpieces provided to the media on day one were connected to the broadcast and had a 15-second delay.
"TGL plans to provide fans with earpieces in the future (not sure when), which will be big. The ones the media had last night were connected to the broadcast, which was 15 seconds behind the live play," Carpenter wrote on X.
The TGL got underway yesterday, with The Bay Golf Club taking on The New York Golf Club. The Bay Golf Club dominated the event and registered a thumping victory with 9:2 points.
The league founders Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are also part of the league as players. Woods will be representing The Jupiter Links GC while McIlroy is part of Boston Common Golf.
