Tiger Woods shared his thoughts on the practice rounds and stated that the practice swings didn't really count for the real golf tournament. He played one TGL tournament on January 14 and his team Jupiter Links lost the match to Los Angeles Golf Club with a score of 1-12.
Following that, Woods joined the Fore Play Golf podcast on January 15, and there, he caddied for the Barstool guys for a round of golf. In the video, Woods was asked whether it was possible to detect bad grip during a practice round. To which, the legendary golfer answered:
“Well I-I would like to see..like your practice swings don't really necessarily mirror what you're doing in a real golf swing…So if I happen to see you hit a range of balls, yes I get an understanding of what you..you're going to do but if I just happen to see you cold like that.
“Then I really can't give you that much information cause I haven't really seen you do it and your rehearsals aren't the same as your real swing.”
Tiger Woods has four upcoming TGL tournaments left till March 4, 2025. The second event is on January 27 against Boston Common Golf and the third event is on February 18 against New York Golf Club. Tiger Woods scorned his golf techniques after losing his first TGL match
Tiger Woods returned to competitive golf at the TGL after last year's PNC Championship, where he and Charlie finished at T2 behind Team Langer. In his first appearance in his own TGL league, the results were not satisfactory and Jupiter Links lost their first TGL match to Los Angeles Golf Club.
After that, Woods joined a press conference and expressed his disappointment with the loss. He said, via ASAP Sports:
“Yeah, I don't know how much was evident today. I don't have any golf skills. Hey, this is a start of a new year. We had a great time. Hopefully people tuned in for the entire broadcast.
“We were entertaining. We hit a lot of shots. I think the people here, they got to see how bad pros can be. It was just a boat race. Oh, my goodness. But we had a great time. What's our teammate Tom Kim thinking right now? Oh, my God.”
Jupiter Links won only one match against the Los Angeles Golf Club in the Triples. They won no match in the singles.
