Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods participated in the PNC Championship four times previously. This year will mark the fifth time the father-son duo will tee off in the family event being held in Orlando, Florida. The 2024 PNC Championship will take place this week from December 20 to 22.

Last year, Tiger Woods withdrew from the Masters Tournament due to aggravated plantar fasciitis and took a long hiatus from golf before coming back at the Hero World Challenge. Following that, he participated in the 2023 PNC Championship, where Tiger and his son Charlie finished at T5 with a total score of 19 under.

In the first round, the father-son duo scored 64 with eight birdies and in the second round, they shot 61 with nine birdies and one eagle on the fifth hole. The father-son duo of Bernhard Langer and Jason Langer won the 2023 edition with a score of 25 under.

Before that, Team Woods finished at T8 with a score of 20 under in 2022. In 2021, Team Woods missed the PNC Championship trophy by two shots as Team Daly consisting of John Daly and John Daly II won the tournament with 27 under.

In 2020, Team Thomas won the PNC Championship trophy with 25 under while Team Woods, making their debut at the tournament, finished at 7th place with 20 under.

Tiger Woods expressed his thoughts on Charlie Woods ahead of 2024 PNC Championship

Before the 2024 PNC Championship, Tiger Woods joined a press conference and mentioned how he doesn't mind Charlie's 'chirpy side' and that they enjoy their time on the field (via Golf Digest):

“He’s a little on the chirpy side, just like I am. [Charlie has] used my lines against me very well. At times, I get frustrated and annoyed because it’s turned right back against me. But that’s the good side of it. We have fun with it,” Tiger Woods said ( via Golf Digest).

Mentioning how Charlie started inclining towards golf during the COVID 19 pandemic, Woods said that he was content with his son enjoying himself, regardless of which sport he played.

"It could switch to something else…As long as he’s happy, he’s excited about whatever sport he’s in…It kept me competitive, kept me in it when we didn’t have any tournaments…But I had a tournament every day with him, and that was the fun part. Was just like me growing up with my dad.”

The 2024 PNC Championship will feature 20 pro-am teams, with Bernhard and Jason Langer teeing off as the defending champions.
