Tiger Woods and John Daly are two parts of an iconic meme. In the photo, a smoking and colorful Daly is seen standing in front of the serious, more conservatively dressed Woods. It creates an ironic juxtaposition and has become a prominent meme format, especially for X owner Elon Musk, who is valued at $254.5 billion (as per Forbes).

Musk used the meme template to make a reference to the recent assassination attempt of Donald Trump. He believes the serious Woods character in the meme represents the Secret Service, who didn't see the sniper on the roof until a shot was fired at the former president. Daly, in Musk's eyes, represents the drunken rally attendees who saw the shooter well before.

This is not the first time Musk has used this meme format. He previously used it to compare his new AI, Grok, in comparison to ChatGPT and others.

Last year, former star golfer John Daly was in a conversation with Tucker Carlson, the famously conservative media personality. Discussing his support for Donald Trump on Carlson's show "Townhall", Daly said (via "townhallcom" on X):

"[Trump] needs to win. I pray to God he wins. Just for the satisfaction of bringing our country back together, get some common sense going in here again. Look what he did in four years, how great was our country the four years he was in office. Now look at it, no secure borders. What the h*ll happened? Where did it go? I was loving the four years of 'Daddy Trump!' It's all gone to h*ll," he said.

Now that Trump is officially in the race and is the Republican nominee, Daly is very likely pushing that support again since he wanted the former president back even before it was official. Trump himself is an avid golfer and even owns several golf courses. The former president had earlier made the headlines after he challenged President Joe Biden to a charity golf match.
