There are a lot of golf courses that will play host to PGA Tour events this year, from Corales Golf Club to Augusta National and from Copper Hill Course to Quail Hollow. Many of these courses are excellent and incredibly stunning places to play.
A few of them stand above the rest, though, as the premier golf courses in America. These have expertly designed holes, incredible scenery and perfect location.
Which of these will be the best to play host to PGA Tour events in 2023?

3) Quail Hollow
Quail Hollow played host to the PGA Championship in 2017. It won't do that again this year, however, as the tournament will be held at Oak Hill Country Club. Quail Hollow will play host to the Wells Fargo Championship in early May, giving players a perfect chance to come play at one of the greatest golf courses in the world.
It's one of the best and most stunning golf courses in the world, let alone the United States. Golfers who get to play here are fortunate. Rickie Fowler once said:
"Quail Hollow is always going to be a special spot for me, and winning there gave me a little more credibility. But I want to be a multiple winner on the PGA Tour."
Many golfers feel the same- winning at Quail Hollow carries a special meaning.
2) Torrey Pines Golf Course
Torrey Pines, thanks to its exceptional location and stunning geography, is one of the most fun courses to visit in the entire world. It's routinely a popular spot for fans hoping to catch a PGA Tour event.
The Farmers Insurance Open, which is hosted at Torrey Pines every year, already occurred in 2023. In January, this was the top of the leaderboard and the money they earned from winning or doing well on this incredible course:
- Win: Max Homa, $1,566,000
- 2: Keegan Bradley, $948,300
- 3: Collin Morikawa, $600,300
- T-4: Sungjae Im, $366,125
- T-4: Sam Ryder, $366,125
- T-4: Sahith Theegala, $366,125
- T-7: Jason Day, $282,750
- T-7: Jon Rahm, $282,750
- T-9: Tony Finau, $245,775
- T-9: Hideki Matsuyama, $245,775
Winning there is special because it's one of the best golf courses out there. Homa, the world's eighth-ranked golfer, knows this very well.
1) Augusta National
Was there ever a doubt which golf course would be the best? Augusta National is arguably the best and most prominent golf course in the history of the world. The Masters is arguably the premier tournament and it is always held here.
Not everyone gets to participate in the Masters, which makes it a little more special. What adds to the allure is the absolutely stunning scenery and perfectly designed holes. This is perhaps the pinnacle of golf and it's certainly a golf course worth visiting.
