1) Scottie Scheffle

Scottie Scheffler is once again entering the 2024 Tour Championship with a 10-stroke advantage. However, he will be hoping that he doesn't do better than last year when he slipped to sixth in the FedEx Cup after the tournament.
Speaking of records, Scheffler has two top-fives at the East Lake Golf Club, including a runner-up finish two years ago.
2) Xander Schauffele
Over the years, Xander Schauffele has been remarkably consistent in the playoffs, and this time is no different. He enters East Lake following T2 and T5 finishes in the last two weeks. If he wins this week, the debate over the PGA Tour Player of the Year could take an interesting turn.
3) Sam Burns
Sam Burns has been in incredible form at the playoffs and has registered a T5 and T2 finish prior to this week. He will start the week at 4-under.
4) Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy has won the Tour Championship three times in his career, the joint-most by any player. Additionally, he is the winningest player in FedEx Cup history.
Although McIlroy is coming into this week after a couple of underwhelming performances, he has the ability to turn things around at any time.
5) Tony Finau
Tony Finau is one of the two players competing in the eighth straight Tour Championship. He has missed just one cut in the past 13 appearances and is entering the week after the T16 and T13 finishes in the last two weeks.
6) Viktor Hovland
Viktor Hovland will enter the field as the defending champion. He had just one top-10 before he made a T2 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which was enough to keep him in contention till the final playoff event.
The Norwegian star will start at 2-under and will look to do the uphill task of defending the Tour Championship.
6) Patrick Cantlay
Viktor Hovland won here in 2021, but he has been winless on the Tour for over two years now. Although he has been consistent, with six straight top-25 finishes leading up to this week, it’s high time for him to end his trophy drought.
