Tour Championship 2024 gross leaderboard: Standings ahead of day 4 explored

As golfers approach Round 4 of the Tour Championship 2024, Scottie Scheffler has maintained quite the lead on the leaderboard. After three rounds of golf, the World No. 1 golfer carded 26-under to gain a five-stroke advantage over Collin Morikawa who is in second place.

However, the one place where Scheffler has not managed to grab the first position is the gross leaderboard of the Tour Championship. Based on the gross leaderboard, Morikawa is ranked in first position followed by Scheffler and Sahith Theegala in second and third place.

For those unaware, the gross leaderboard is a leaderboard that calculates the gross score of a golfer without considering the advantage strokes. Thus, the gross leaderboard in a way helps in letting fans know who is playing better golf without the starting strokes advantage being a factor.

That's the reason why Scottie Scheffler is trailing Collin Morikawa on the gross leaderboard despite being ahead of him in the official leaderboard. It will be interesting to see how these players perform in Round 4 of the Tour Championship.

In the final round which will be played on Sunday at the East Lake Golf Club, Scheffler and Morikawa will be paired with each other. The duo will tee off at 1:05 pm (ET).
