Tyrrell Hatton won the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday, January 19, with a score of 15 under. In doing so, Hatton tied an important record previously held by LIV Golf colleague Jon Rahm.
Hatton's victory at Emirates Golf Club marks his fifth career win on the DP World Tour Rolex Series, a record previously only held by Jon Rahm. The Rolex Series was inaugurated in 2017 and has featured different events each season.
These are the Rolex Series tournaments won by Tyrrell Hatton:
- 2017 Irish Open
- 2019 Turkish Airlines Open
- 2020 BMW PGA Championship
- 2021 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship
- 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic
As for Jon Rahm, he has won the following Rolex Series events:
- 2017 Irish Open
- 2017 DP World Tour Championship
- 2019 Irish Open
- 2019 DP World Tour Championship
- 2023 DP World Tour Championship
Nine other players have won multiple Rolex Series events. The list includes Rory McIlroy (4), Tommy Fleetwood (2), Billy Horschel (2), Shane Lowry (2), Alex Noren (2), Justin Rose (2), Lee Westwood (2), Bernd Wiesberger (2), and Danny Willett (2).
The Rolex Series includes the most important tournaments of each season on the DP World Tour, except for the major championships. These events pay the highest purses and award the most Race to Dubai points.
Only the DP World Tour Championship has remained within the Rolex Series since its inception. The Hero Dubai Desert Classic was added to the schedule in 2023.
A look at Tyrrell Hatton's performance at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic
Tyrrell Hatton opened the Hero Dubai Desert Classic with a 1-under 71, largely affected by a double bogey on the 8th, after carding three bogey-free birdies in his first seven holes.
Hatton bounced back in style, carding eight birdies and one bogey in the second round to finish 7-under for the tournament. The performance saw him climb more than 40 places on the leaderboard to sit in a share of third place after 36 holes.
A day later, the Englishman carded another solid round with an eagle, five birdies, and three bogeys (4 under for the round) to finish in a share of second place, just one shot behind 54-hole leader Daniel Hillier.
In the final round, Hatton carded five birdies and two bogeys (3 under for the round), while Hillier could only manage one under to drop to second place. It was Tyrrell Hatton's eighth win on the DP World Tour and 13th of his professional career.
It is also Hatton's third victory worldwide in his last 13 official starts. He won the LIV Golf Nashville in June, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October, and the Hero Dubai Deserts Classic in January.
