U.S. Women's Open 2024: Schedule, top players, prize money and more

As the Mizuho Americas Open comes to an end, the LPGA Tour will next stop in Pennsylvania for the 2024 U.S. Women's Open. The tournament will be played at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, from May 30 to June 2, 2024.

This will be the second time that Lancaster Country Club will be hosting the US Women's Open. It hosted the tournament for the first time in 2015 where In Gee Chun won the tournament over Amy Yang by one stroke.

The Lancaster Country Club was opened in 1900 and has hosted several tournaments. Pennsylvania Open, 2008 US Women's Open qualifiers, and many amateur events have been played on the course. The course is a par 70 course and is 6,583 yards.

This year, the prize purse at the 2024 U.S. Women's Open is $12 million. This is an increase of $1 million from last year's prize and more than a two-times increase from the prize purse of $5.5 million in 2021. The breakout of prize money hasn't been announced by the USGA yet.

Allisen Corpuz won the 2023 U.S. Women's Open. She won the Harton S. Semple Trophy and a prize of $2 million last year at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California, and will look to defend her title this year.


The 2024 U.S. Women's Open schedule

The 79th edition of the U.S. Women's Open is a 72-hole format tournament with a cut after 36 holes. It will start with the first round on Thursday, May 30, and go on till the weekend to conclude with the final round on Sunday, June 2.

2024 U.S. Women's Open top players

The 2024 U.S. Women's Open field will consist of 156 players. Nelly Korda is the most notable player in the field. The World No.1 will look forward to her seventh victory this season and third major victory in his career. She is backed with a victory at the Mizuho Americas Open.

Past US Women's Open winners will also be in the field. They include Brittany Lang, Ariya Jutanugarn, Jeongeun Lee6, A Lim Kim, Yuka Saso, Minjee Lee, Allisen Corpuz and In Gee Chun.

Major winners like Celine Boutier, Ashleigh Buhai, Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko and Hannah Green are also among the 156 players on the field at the US Women's Open.

The 2023 winner Allisen Corpuz hasn't had the best of seasons this year. She has had only one top-10 finish and would look to regain her form at the tournament.

Of the 60 players who have qualified from the local qualifying and final qualifying sites, the notable players are:

2024 U.S. Women's Open prize money

The 2024 U.S. Women will have the highest prize purse in the history of Women's Golf tournaments. The prize purse this year is $12 million, an increase of $1 million from 2023. The breakout hasn't been announced yet, however, last year's winner Allisen Corpuz won $2 million.
