The LPGA has announced Valhalla Golf Club as the host for the 2028 Solheim Cup. The biennial women's golf event between the United States and Europe is one of the most popular tournaments. In the 18 events played, Team USA holds a 10-7-1 advantage.
Valhalla Golf Club, the host of the 21st Solheim Cup, will join a select group of courses that have hosted both the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup. Located in Louisville, Kentucky, Valhalla recently hosted the 2024 PGA Championship.

The Jack Nicklaus-designed Valhalla Golf Club was opened in 1986. The Golf Course has hosted several PGA Championships and the men's biennial event, Ryder Cup in 2008.
The LPGA will announce the dates for this event later, likely scheduling it for the late summer or early fall season.

This marks the inaugural professional women's golf event at Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Kentucky. It also signifies the return of women's professional golf to the state of Kentucky after a hiatus of over 50 years. The last women's professional golf event in the state was the Bluegrass Invitational, held at Hunting Creek Country Club just outside Louisville until 1974.
As such, this will be a great opportunity for golf enthusiasts in Kentucky and Louisville fans to witness some top golfers from the United States and Europe.
The 2024 Solheim Cup will be contested at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville. Stacy Lewis will captain Team USA, while Suzann Pettersen leads the European team.
The next Solheim Cup will be held in Europe at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, in 2026. The event will then move to Valhalla in 2028.
