"Was a bit of a shame" - Jon Rahm's replacement John Catlin makes his feelings known on Spaniard's absence from LIV Golf Team Championship SF

John Catlin competed in the LIV Golf as an alternate and played six events for various teams like Crushers GC, Smash GC, and Legion XIII. He replaced Jon Rahm at Legion XIII as the Spaniard was under the weather during the LIV Golf Dallas Team Championship.

Recently, the American pro golfer sat down for an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda, where he spoke about Rahm's absence from the semifinals of the tournament.

"It's great," Catlin said. "I really, really, enjoyed being around Jon. Jon's, you know, I mean, it was a bit of, a shame he was under the weather. And, you know, I know he wanted to play, and you know, he did his very best to be able to play. He waited as long as he could, and just unfortunately, wasn't able to go," Catlin said.

The 34-year-old said he has gotten to know Rahm a bit better, and they share a similar competitive drive. The American golfer said he had some great chats with Jon Rahm during the LIV Golf UK event and believes the is one of the best "golfers in the game right now.

"We both want to win. We both want to, you know, do our best. And, you know, I felt like that. That was a big part of why we got along so well over the summer. You know, especially, especially at JCB, we had, we had some great, some great chats. So, yeah, no, I definitely respect Jon. I think he's an amazing golfer, you know, I think he's one of the best in the game right now."

Along with LIV Golf, John Catlin is a regular on the International Series and Asian Tour. He registered two wins last year as he won the Saudi Open and International Series Macau.
